Class of 2021 - Akshay Kannan, Jalen McKinney, Luke Morris and Michael Lim
Michael Lim
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "I see myself getting a well-paid job, traveling to different countries, and playing competitive adult tennis tournaments/leagues." What advice do you have for future Hoyas? "Always trust in yourself and never give up! Learn from your mistakes and have a positive attitude to help elevate your game. As long as you put in the work, you will improve without a doubt. High school tennis is a team sport, not an individual sport, so encourage your teammates. At the end of the day, you win as a whole team together." How has tennis helped you in life? "Tennis has taught me many valuable lessons in my life. By having the right attitude, anything can be achieved on and off the court. Ultimately, tennis has taught me to be patient because the hard work will eventually pay off one day." |
Akshay Kannan
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "I hope to have a good job and play in casual tennis leagues." What advice do you have for future Hoyas? "Prepare for the AP Chemistry exam." How has tennis helped you in life? "Tennis helps to keep me in shape and gives me something to look forward to in school." |
Luke Morris
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "I see myself hopefully with a job at age 27 and with the new iPhone 22!" What advice do you have for future Hoyas? "Anywhere you play in the lineup can still change, if you grind over the off-season or if you don't." How has tennis helped you in life? "Playing and focusing on high school tennis is fun and a good activity to be part of." |
Jalen McKinney
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? "Finding my passion and making good money. I see myself with a good future and a great family." What advice do you have for future Hoyas? "Make sure to get involved in something because it can completely change your life. You will meet life long friends and good people. So don't be scared to step out of your comfort zone." How has tennis helped you in life? "It taught me to work as a team and to start thinking about how things will affect others. It also taught me to support and lift others up no matter what and to not hate because it will not get you anywhere. Overall, I met a lot of cool people and role models and this kept me off the streets." |
